About Perform Unbound
Built on lived experience
Perform Unbound is about celebrating the powerful intersection between neurodiversity, disability, personal challenge and adventure sport. The mission is simple: open minds, inspire growth, and champion the strengths of differently wired individuals.

Physio, bike fitter, coach and athlete — I was diagnosed as neurodivergent much later in life. After a lifetime of feeling marginalised and at odds with societal norms, it all made sense, and why adventure sport had become, and still is, such a defining aspect in my life. It gave me a way to focus a tumultuous mind, create human connections I otherwise found difficult, and build the confidence and skills I needed to navigate life and create successes. And it continues to be the space where I can be my authentic self.
Despite early-onset degenerative lumbar disc disease, I continue to ride and race bikes off-road, trail run and ski tour. My personal journey has led me to become an advocate for the neurodiverse community — to give individuals a voice through adventure sport.
Why Perform Unbound exists
Choosing not to be defined by a diagnosis
Diagnosed with degenerative lumbar disc disease at 33, I was advised to avoid the very sports that helped me navigate life: trail running and mountain bike racing. I chose not to let that diagnosis define my limits.
At 35, I was diagnosed with organisational dyslexia, and much later in life recognised that I’m autistic with ADHD. Adventure sports were my anchor — bringing clarity, confidence and connection in ways nothing else did.
Adventure cycling helped me realise what I could do. It developed my confidence, my interpersonal skills, and the ability to be comfortable in challenging, unpredictable environments — pushing my mind and body well beyond the self-imposed limits that came from years of being told what I couldn’t do.
I understand what it’s like to live with injury, too — to keep being an athlete despite being told to stop. Now into my 50s, it’s weight training and determination that fuel my ability to keep going. It’s about what we can do, not what we can’t. That belief fuels everything at Perform Unbound.
What I do
Education, coaching & storytelling
- Neurodiversity workshops and talks for managers, organisations, group leaders and outdoor education providers
- A space for neurodiverse and non-neurodiverse people to come together for reflection and discussion — without judgment
- 1:1 coaching to help individuals understand and self-regulate their neurodiverse minds
- Showing how adventure sport can unlock confidence, resilience and performance — far beyond what society may expect
My focus
Reshaping the narrative
I challenge the misconceptions around neurodiversity — especially being AuADHD — and refuse to let anyone be defined by the challenges they carry.
Neurodiversity isn’t a disorder. It’s a unique way of processing the world — one that brings value to society, workplaces and teams. I encourage a mindset shift from “I can’t” to “how can I?”, helping people of all ages and abilities discover their own level of performance.
At Perform Unbound, anyone who engages in sport is an athlete.
